To Know Christ Jesus
Through Art and Word and Prayer
- The Catholic lay theologian, lecturer and publisher Frank Sheed wrote To Know Christ Jesus so that we might know Him as one person knows another.
- The French artist James Tissot spent ten years of research in the Holy Land so that the 350 watercolors in his Life of Christ would portray Him as authentically as possible.
- The founder of the Jesuits Ignatius of Loyola invites us in his Spiritual Exercises to contemplate imaginatively the life of Christ seeking a more intimate knowledge of Him that we may love Him more ardently and follow Him more closely.
We invite you to join us in this reflection group, studying Sheed’s text, interpreting Tissot’s art, and experiencing Ignatian contemplation, all about the life of the Lord. The 2017 program will cover half the material; the second half will be offered in 2018.
