Ignatian Companions

Ignatian Companion

If St. Ignatius of Loyola were alive today, I believe he would invite you, as I do in this letter today, to be part of Manresa’s Ignatian Companions.

When St. Ignatius studied in Paris, he attracted a circle of close friends who called themselves “Friends in the Lord.” Later, they decided to become the Companions of Jesus, the Jesuits. As they scattered to various ministries serving the church around the world, Ignatius wrote numerous letters to these companions, thus forming a vast communication network of friendship, love, and prayer.

When Manresa Jesuit Retreat House was established in 1926, it was from the efforts of a group of like-minded friends who understood and valued the Ignatian Spirituality handed down by these companions. Over the past 90 years, the lives of thousands of people have been transformed here on the grounds of Manresa because of what these friends established.

Manresa is committed to preserving and spreading Ignatian Spirituality for future generations. You can be an important part of this effort by joining Manresa’s Ignatian Companions. With your prayers and support, we will continue to be an effective source of comfort, strength and healing for those seeking a closer relationship with God through Ignatian Spirituality.

Please click here to let us know you are with us in prayer. With a gift of $10 you will become a member of Manresa’s Ignatian Companions. Print this prayer and keep it with you and pray it for our retreatants, Jesuits and staff. It will serve as your membership card as an Ignatian Companion and you will be remembered in the Mass said twice per year for the Companions. Your gift and your prayers, together with those of other Companions, will allow Manresa to continue to touch lives and witness miracles.

“I also want to donate an additional for general support of Manresa and its Ignatian programs.”

Christ’s peace,

Fr. Francis Daly, SJ

P.S. Please see the General calendar for the next Mass for the Ignatian Companions. You are welcome to join us if you are able.
